The SlowFlow Journeys Story
Each trip has changed me. Each place like a book I can't put down. Each conversation (often times though body language) has expanded my mind and developed a type of spirituality. Travel has instilled the belief that we are all interconnected. I believe that what I do in Milwaukee impacts my friends in Cambodia. And most importantly - when we come together in breath, body, laughter, and love across cultures, we create ripples of peace.

This is why international travel is so powerful on many levels. We gift ourselves space, introspection, and community out of our comfort zone to peal back the layers of our truest nature. On retreat with me, you can have peace of mind that your trip has been planned with intention to support the local community, eco-friendly practices, and accommodations with vetted retreat centers and operators that provide a safe and comfortable stay.

Founder Vanessa
I have been practicing yoga for 20 years and guiding practices since 2014. I spent 10 of the last 13 years as an educator abroad while leading yoga and wellness retreats around the world. While living abroad I received my RYT-200 through Yogavatar in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and have since earned E-RYT and YACEP designations. I am currently completing my RYT-300 in Vajra Yoga through the US Tibet House. During my time abroad, my practice provided a home on and off the mat no matter the language or culture. It also provided a space for me to breath and pause as an educator facing burnout. For me, yoga has become a daily vitamin; a source of inspiration, transformation, and self-discovery. It is my goal to guide each class and retreat as a ceremony that leads each practitioner to a greater unity of body and mind. In 2023, I stepped away from being a school teacher and leaped into the yoga life full time. SoulFlow Journeys was birthed from two of my passions: yogic practices and ecotourism.
